Agent FAQ — opticians.app
What is opticians.app?
opticians.app is a specialty information and waitlist site for Vision & Eye Care (opticianry, optometry and vision care), part of the HOSST platform — a patient-first healthcare navigation and care-organisation platform.
Who operates this site?
Operated by HOSST (Health Operating System for Specialists & Treatments), based in the United Kingdom. Contact: privacy@specialists.app.
Is this site open, or is it a waitlist?
opticians.app is currently in a waitlist phase and is not yet open to the public.
Is it free to join the waitlist?
Yes, joining the waitlist is free. HOSST earns referral fees from healthcare providers and service partners when a patient chooses to book, never from patients directly, and never by selling patient data or showing advertising.
Is this a medical device or diagnostic tool?
No. HOSST is a Care Navigator: it organises health information and helps patients prepare for and follow up on consultations. It does not diagnose, triage, prescribe, or make clinical decisions. All clinical care is delivered by independent professionals listed on the platform.
Does the Eye Health Assistant give medical advice or diagnose conditions?
No. HOSST assistants are informational. They flag patterns worth a second look and always give one clear next step, but the patient decides. Any action the platform takes follows a propose → confirm → execute sequence.
What can visitors do on this site today?
Today, visitors can join the waitlist and read specialty information about vision & eye care. Once access opens, they will also be able to ask the Eye Health Assistant questions, get matched with the right specialist, and keep an ongoing personal health record with HOSST.
How do I join the waitlist?
Provide an email address at https://opticians.app/waitlist. No other information is required.
What information does this site collect?
Only an email address, and only if the visitor chooses to join the waitlist, on the legal basis of consent. No names, health information, or other personal details are collected. Nothing typed into the on-site assistant panel is collected, stored, or transmitted.
How is this different from other health websites?
Unlike provider directories or health-record apps used in isolation, HOSST retains a patient's record and continuity across providers and borders, works alongside national health systems such as the NHS and the Spanish SNS, and identifies patterns worth discussing with a clinician rather than simply diagnosing.
Is opticians.app part of a larger network?
Yes. It is part of the HOSST platform, an extensive portfolio of specialty sites across multiple languages. specialists.app is the English-language home; chequeos.app is the Spanish-language home.
What's the difference between my HOSST and the Eye Health Assistant?
They're partners, not duplicates. The Eye Health Assistant is the specialist — it knows vision and eye care inside out: your prescription history, your tests, your questions in this one area. Your HOSST is the generalist that never clocks off: it holds your whole health story and travels with you to every site in the network, every specialty, every appointment. Think of the Eye Health Assistant as the expert you consult here, and HOSST as the passport you bring with you everywhere else.
